Earthquake and scouring are the leading causes of bridge failure worldwide, resulting not only in casualties fatalities but also enormous societal economic losses. A great number bridges earthquake-prone countries cross rivers have shallow foundations, which renders them highly vulnerable to combined effects earthquake flood-induced scour. Thus, research on dynamic response with foundations under scour hazards is timely imperative. This study investigates problem through development a numerical model for evaluating effect impedance functions massless rigid strip foundation resting homogenous elastic half-space. The developed then used an extensive parametric analyzing changes fundamental frequency piers different combinations geometrical mechanical properties soil-structure-foundation system. results shed light vibration important implications inverse techniques identification based evaluation modal properties.
